What is Opinion Exchange?

Opinion Exchange is open to anyone to share their thoughts on a variety of topics through features such as online surveys and polls through to telephone surveys, product testing and focus group participation. Your opinions will help to shape the products and services offered by our clients.

Can anyone join Opinion Exchange?

Yes! We're keen to hear from anyone based in the UK who has an opinion.

How do I join Opinion Exchange?

Click Sign up to join. After registering and confirming your email address, please log in and complete the profiling survey – you will find this under the "Profile" tab. The more information we know about you, the more likely you are to be contacted for future research tasks.

All details collected will be used for legitimate market research purposes only and not for sales or marketing. After completing the profiling survey, you will be fully registered and ready to take part in our research projects. We will send you an email when a relevant survey is available to complete, or you can check the "Surveys" area of the site to see any outstanding invitations you may have.

Is registration free?

Yes! It doesn't cost anything. In fact, Opinion Exchange offers incentives for taking part in surveys and focus groups.

Can I create more than one account?

We're afraid not. We reward our members for taking part in surveys, but we ask our members to be honest. Our systems identify multiple account entries and prevent multiple participation in surveys. We also undertake quality checks of completed surveys before allocating rewards. Members who do not abide by these basic and simple rules risk having their accounts deleted, and forfeiting being paid. People who join Opinion Exchange must accept these terms and conditions when they join.

Participating in surveys

How often will I receive surveys?

You will be given regular opportunities to take part in surveys which are relevant to you. Typically, you will be invited to complete a survey around once a month. Make sure you keep your Profile information up to date – you can do this by logging into your account and clicking on the "Profile" tab.

How long is a typical survey?

This depends on the subject matter and type of survey, but most online surveys are between 5 and 10 minutes. The incentive payment for participating in different surveys will vary depending on the survey length.

Do I have to participate in every survey?

No, it is up to you whether you participate or not. We will remind you a couple of times, but if you do not want to take part simply ignore the emails.

How can I participate in more surveys?

You will only be able take part in surveys when you are invited, but we will do our best to invite you as regularly as possible. If you keep your profile up-to-date, we will have better information and will be better able to target invitations to research. You can update your profile once you have logged in.

Incentives & rewards

How do I earn rewards?

All research tasks (surveys, focus groups, interviews, etc.) are incentivised. The incentive will be clearly displayed on the survey invitation email, and are able to see your total to date in your Opinion Exchange profile, when logged in.

When can I withdraw?

You can withdraw via PayPal once you have accrued £4.00 of incentives. We are also reviewing other rewards, such as vouchers, but will always offer a cash withdrawal option.

Although we aim to process incentives as soon as possible, please note it can take up to 10 working days for the rewards to appear in your account.

How do I redeem my incentives?

You simply have to sign into your account and click on "Rewards". Your balance will be displayed here.

Click on the "Redeem to PayPal" button. Simply insert the value you would like to redeem (do not include the £ symbol – just insert the number, for example, type 5 for £5). Then provide a valid PayPal email address (you must have a PayPal account where your credit can be transferred to). Finally, select "Redeem".

To avoid fraudulent activity we have set the following daily redemption limits:
- Minimum redemption value £4
- Maximum redemption value £200
- 1 daily redemption

Account & profile

How do I change my details after registering?

You will need to log in and then click on the "Account" tab - within this section, you can update your name, telephone number and email address.

If you would like to update profile information, such as address, job status etc please click on the "Profile" tab and update the Opinion Exchange profiling survey. If you need help changing your profile, please get in touch with us via the contact form.

How do I change my password?

Once you are logged in, select the small arrow next to your name. Here you will be given the option to “Change Password”.

Can I leave Opinion Exchange at any time?

Although we would be sad to see you go, you are under no obligation to stay with Opinion Exchange any longer than you wish to. To close your account please log into your account – click on the "Accounts" tab and click on "I want to close my account" which is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Why has my account been suspended?

Your account will be suspended if we identify suspicious activity.
Reasons for this may include multiple accounts from the same device which has been flagged as a concern to us. If your account has been suspended and you believe this is incorrect, please email suspension@OpinionExchange.co.uk

Privacy

Is the information I give you safe?

We take your privacy as seriously as you do. Opinion Exchange is operated by DJS Research Ltd, a Market Research Society Company Partner, registered with the ICO. We will use your data in accordance with our privacy policy which you can find here.

Will I receive emails from third parties?

Absolutely not. Opinion Exchange is purely about market research and has nothing to do with sales and marketing. We pride ourselves on this and we will never use your data in this way.

How can I cancel my membership?

We hope you stay with us, but if you no longer want to participate in our research you are free to deactivate your account at any time. You can deactivate your account yourself by clicking on the “I want to leave Opinion Exchange” link on the “My profile” page when you are logged in. Please note that if you deactivate your account, any reward points that have been accumulated will not be paid and, if you subsequently rejoin the panel at a later date, the rewards accumulated previously would not be carried forward into a new account.

Additional information

What type of research projects will be taking part in?

Opinion Exchange members will be invited to a range of different research types, including online surveys, in-depth telephone or Skype interviews, focus groups, mystery shops, accompanied shops and a range of others. Each approach includes a different incentive – some focus groups can be up to £150.00 for attending!

What type of topics will be covered?

We cover the full range of industries, meaning surveys could be about anything from clothing or retail, to snacking, saving, sport and exercise or politics! Many of our surveys are open to all members, although in some cases we may only wish to speak to specific groups – such as Teachers or Nurses for instance – so make sure you keep your profile up to date to ensure you get all the invitations that are relevant to you!
